Mulino della Solaia is a beautiful luxurious recent conversion of an old olive oil mill in the hills of Tuscany, south of Siena, with exclusive private garden, swimming pool and spectacular views over a forested valley. Mulino della Solaia is of typical Tuscan construction, stone, chestnut beams and terracotta tiles and is situated within a tiny hamlet not far from the village of Iesa.
Mulino della Solaia has been restored to very high standards with traditional exterior, the interior is tastefully modern, air-conditioned throughout, along with the latest in lighting and eco-friendly heating.
Set over two floors, the mill is an independent building with a huge living area with fireplace. The villa has ceiling height picture windows looking over the sun terrace which runs the length of the mill. It offers a dining room seating ten next to a fully modern kitchen fitted out with all the latest equipment. At the foot of the stairs in the middle of the house is the original millstone. Next to the millstone is a game room and the TV room with ‘smart’ flat screen TV. At one end of the mill is a ground floor bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The entire ground floor is wheelchair accessible.
On the upper floor a corridor runs the length of the house. At one end is the master bedroom, at the other, a large bedroom with two more bedrooms between them. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with luxuriously modern bathroom fittings. Wifi is accessible throughout the house with ‘Bluetooth’ speakers to stream music or radio shows.
The exclusive pool has a huge deck area equipped with sun loungers, sunshade and tables with outstanding views over the forest, valley and hills in the distance.

We stayed at the villa for 5 days in June. The views from the villa are spectacular . Gaia, the conceirge manager was very helpful in recommending and arranging day trips for us and is very prompt in responding. The villa is spacious and a great place to relax . Highly recommend it to friends and family.

Just finished spending 10 days at Mulino della Solaia in May 2019 . The family and friends memories we have created here will last a lifetime. We had 5 to 8 family members and friends staying with us at the facility and there was more than enough room all for us. Everything in the villa is brand new and we really appreciated the a/c on warm days. The pool was a great way to relax and the surrounding landscape was beautiful.The facility is wonderful and we felt as if we were living as Italians for the 10 days. The purpose of our trip was to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our concierge Gaia was beyond gracious in making my wife's birthday celebration in Italy come true. It exceeded our expectations by far!!!! We hired a chef for three nights and it was well worth it. We were provided with a true italian meal with only the finest ingredients. Gaia was helpful in arranging day trips for us to some of the most beautiful area's in Tuscany. As well as arranging dinner reservations. Again a memory that will last a lifetime for our family. Siena is near by and many other local towns are easy to drive to and experience. A wine and food lovers paradise. This is a wonderful villa and I would not hesitate to reserve it. The concierge aspect of this villa makes the experience care free. Richard

A lifetime experience in a fantastic Italian Villa. The house has been recently refurbished from its foundations, all is new and yet the villa retains the feel of old times when it was an oil mill. We have been so comfortable, warmly welcomed and all the comprehensive extras made all the difference, it is not just a normal vacation rental but a true unique experience. The complimentary Concierge service was a bliss as we had nothing to worry about and we have been given precious suggestions and support, thank you Gaia! The location is peaceful and with outstanding views, yet near to Siena, the Chianti and Montalcino. We have recommended the Villa to all our friends. Recently advertised , it is a well hidden gem to discover. We are planning to return next year!

The house immaculate and perfectly appointed, the services impeccable, the location is to die for, what else? somebody would say! We were expecting just a nice house, it was instead a fantastic stay.

We are spending our holidays in Tuscany and we have chosen Mulino della Solaia to explore the area of Siena. The house is outstanding, finished elegantly and no detail has been overlooked. An elegant feel, modern and homely at the same time. Gaia welcomed us on arrival and gave us all the necessary information regarding the house and the area. She was always available for any information and provided very useful suggestions. Welcome basket, wine and spirits are a bonus that we enjoyed thoroughly. On our last evening we had a chef cooking dinner for us at the villa, the highest of our stay. Great property that we highly recommend.

We arrived at Solaia and we were already enchanted by the beauty of the surrounding nature. The Villa was an exceptional find, recently restored to the highest standards, we could not ask for more. We were provided with a generous welcome basket and, on our request, the team of Arceno Rentals had organised for us a welcoming dinner cooked by a local guest. All was perfect and we settled in quickly and very comfortably. The house is equipped with the most modern appliances, Wifi all over the house, the garden is well appointed, we even managed to have a day in the sunny garden, we shall be back in summer to take full advantage of the pool which was closed for the season. A unique place that one can really call home!

Mulino della Solaia lies about twenty kilometres south of Siena in the municipality of Monticiano.
The area around the Villa is hilly and forested, there are several nature reserves within walking distance and a short drive away. ‘Riserva Naturale Farma’ to the South, ‘Riserva La Pietra’ and the most famous ‘Riserva Naturale Alto Merse are a paradise for nature lovers, hill walkers and hikers.
Nearby you find the Spas of Petriolo and Bagnaia famous for their hot waters.
Montalcino, the Crete region with Pienza and San Quirico d’Orcia are a short drive away. The seaside with Castiglione della Pescaia and Argentario is within about an hour.
The famous abbey of San Galgano is also a renowned attraction of the area.
