Villa Casanova -Arceno Rentals Club

Villa Casanova is a comfortable, independent, restored ‘fienile’ or barn within its own garden overlooking the Chianti countryside. Situated within the private estate of Arceno, Villa Casanova is part of a ‘casale’ (farmstead) renovated as private residences and set in the forest of the Arceno Estate. Thus Villa Casanova is a tranquil and very private accommodation, making it a romantic and cosy retreat from the world.

Accessed from the large terrace, Casanova is compact but exclusive and comfortably furnished, with an open plan living arrangement, including an open fireplace, seating, dining area and a fully equipped ‘bijou’ kitchen.
On the lower level are the master, second bedroom and bathroom with shower.

The ‘terrazza’ or terrace has iron garden furniture and a gazebo under which to dine or have breakfast. Beyond, lies a huge garden with fruit trees, roses and other flowering shrubs. The garden leads into the forest and on the southern edge of the garden is a large patio with seating, shade and views towards the south of Chianti, le Crete and Monte Amiata.

Casanova shares a private swimming pool. The Villa has WiFi internet access, DVD player, T.V. and a Bluetooth radio CD stereo player providing a choice of entertainment, along with board games and puzzles.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Villa Casanova, the property has fantastic views from all aspects. The villa is well equipped and comfortable with lovely bed linen and towels. The welcome pack was VERY plentiful to start the holiday and we enjoyed the local wines. The pool area is beautiful and the pool was kept spotlessly clean. Anna and Gaia were exceptionally helpful when we made the booking and also during our stay, nothing was too much trouble, thank you for making our so holiday special.

We had a wonderful 1 week stay at Villa Casanova in May 2019. Everything was as described and better. Although the location maybe difficult to find for some, the journey is well worth the travels. The Villa is located close (short drive) to all the major tourist sites we wanted to visit, as well as some smaller excellent towns that we would never have thought to visit had we not been local. Anna and Ross were sure to follow up with us to make sure we arrived safely, and Gaia was helpful and a wealth of knowledge for any information required. She responded quickly whenever we needed to contact her by text. The entire grounds are well maintained and the views are safe and immaculate. The welcome basket took care of us for a few days and we had no problem getting the supplies we needed for our vacation. Villa Casanova is very cozy and comfortable. All appliances were easy to use and the laundry was a welcome surprise . Although our weather wasn't perfect, it afforded us the opportunity to use the fireplace to enjoy our evenings. the firewood was easily accessed and easy to use. I would highly recommend this beautiful Villa to anyone!

We (couple with two kids) spent two weeks at Casanova in August 2018. Casanova is a small barn that has been refurbished to high standards and that is located close to forest. There are two further houses nearby and a swimming pool with a terrific view over the valley is shared between the three buildings. Many Beautiful villages can be reached within an hour ride (Siena, Arezzo, Colle Val d'Elsa to name some) which makes it ideal for day-trips. Plenty of excellent and reasonably priced Restaurants can be found within 15min by car. The concierge service is truly great, the welcome food basket was a much appreciated surprise.

Villa Casanova has been our abode for the last part of our holiday and we have found it exceptionally welcoming and well appointed. Equipped with all comforts and with the services provided by the team of Arceno Rentals, we have been able to enjoy thoroughly the house, the exceptionally beautiful estate of Arceno and the surrounding area. The house offers tranquillity and privacy and at the same time we could easily reach the most famous towns and villages within easy distance Siena, Cortona, Sam Gimignano, on our last day we even visited Florence. We shall return in summer, the garden, the pool and the views make this property a unique find. It is extremely well managed, thank you Anna and Gaia for being there for us with your precious suggestions.

Casanova is the idilic setting for your Tuscan holiday. From the moment we arrived our family of four were overwhelmed by the rustic charms of the villa and it's breathtaking surroundings. Casanova is approximately 15minutes from the main road, approached by Italian white roads. This drive is not for the faint hearted and I would recommend a 4x4 to make the drive a little more comfortable. However, you are rewarded by a location so remote and stunning that this can be overlooked. Inside the villa has everything you need for a fabulous stay. The owners have thought of every possible detail, providing all you need even for the most fussy guests. The villa is spotlessly clean and the welcome basket is amazing, meaning you don't need to venture out immediately for supplies. Outside is really where Casanova shines. A beautiful patio area overlooks the Tuscan hills, perfect for sitting watching the sun set. The pool is large and exceptionally clean and we did not need to share it with any other guests during our stay. Towels are supplied in abundance and were changed, along with bed linen, twice on our 10day stay. The nearest village is San Gusme though it can be difficult to get somewhere open. Castelnuovo Beradenga is a lovely town approximately 25mins away and this is where we were able to purchase supplies. Just check opening times for the local shops as we got caught out a few times when needing the basics! As for touring Tuscany, Casanova provides the perfect base. Siena is about 40mins away and was probably our favourite destination with Gaia, the concierge providing invaluable information on the Palio, parking and restaurants. Florence is roughly 100 minutes away. For us,as a family who have never been to Italy, the fact that the owners offer a concierge service was undoubtedly the biggest benefit. Gaia is worth her weight in gold and provided us with so much information. Nothing was ever too much trouble and she was always available to offer assistance, no more so than when our car broke down!! She, and her partner went way beyond the call of duty to help us. Gaia and the wonderful service she provides sets Casanova aside from other properties. Thank you so much for making our family holiday so memorable. Casanova is a gorgeous property in a beautiful part of the world. If you book here, rest assured that you are in very good hands and that everything will be done to make your holiday a magical one.

Cosy, welcoming and with a ‘welcome basket’ of goodies to see us through our first days at Casanova we fell in love with the place. We will be back to Casanova again for sure. The concierge gave us many recommendations when we asked and we were not disappointed in the choices we made. ‘La Bottega del Trente’ was a fantastic evening out, (we’re foodies) and getting a guided tour of the ‘Uffizzi’ in Florence was a once in a life time experience not to be missed, just we two and the guide! We drifted through our stay here as if in a dream it was just so much! The house was perfect, the pool refreshing, the views over the countryside tremendous, the plentiful supply of house wine, although the wine tour we took was unmissable. We cannot rate this experience highly enough, as before, ‘we will be back!’

To hash an old saying ‘you couldn’t ask for more!’ Casanova was the ideal home away from home, anything and everything had been thought of and given. The welcome basket was a godsend, meaning we could just relax and really enjoy our first night and day here. We spent a few days doing nothing beside the pool but were able to easily find our way about to the local restaurants in San Gusmè, Castelnuovo Berardenga or Villa a Sesta. We managed several breakfasts and lunches under the gazebo on the terrace too! The quietness was wonderful and the house just so well appointed including games for the kids and grown-ups. A few day trips out to Siena and Florence and once, a day out to the seaside, coming home, tired, to such a lovely little house was just the ‘icing on the cake

Beautifully situated house on a hill away from the hustle and bustle. Home runs amazing gravel road winding between forests and vineyards. I loved her ride. The house has a fantastic layout of the rooms. In the pictures did not seem as big and comfortable as it is in reality. It's comfortable and gives great autonomy (huge kitchen with living room and bathroom and downstairs, two bedrooms with a bathroom). The house in a small slope so you have the feeling that all of its facilities are on the ground floor. At the house large, very clean pool, with panoramic views of the valley. Beautiful views encourage to spend long evenings on the terrace. This location is a great place to visit Italy. During a week's stay (too short :-)), we were able to visit Siena, Pisa, Arezzo (my favorite city) and many other places. The area has a lot of climatic towns and villages where you can do your shopping in small family shops and eat local dishes, for example, in San Gusme. Many times we visited Italy but always the warmest memories from that house Casa Nova. I would recommend, I would definitely go there again.

We chose Casanova to get away from it all for a week of complete rest and we were not disappointed! Secluded with a large garden the only sounds we heard during our stay were from the wildlife. The days were spent idling away the hours until lunch or dinner beckoned, enjoying the sunshine on the terrace, in the garden reading with spectacular vistas of the Tuscan countryside. To cool down, a dip in the generously sized pool a stone’s throw from the house. The house was spotless clean and generously appointed and the owners made us feel very welcome indeed and supported us by fulfilling all our requests. After giving advice about where to go to visit or eat, they left us in complete solitude but with the knowledge that should we need anything or help they were just a call away. Highly recommended!

Perfect! This little house blew us away! Set well into the wooded areas of the private estate we were far enough away from ‘civilisation’ to really relax at leisure. However there was plenty to see and do if we wanted action. Cannot recommend going to see the ‘Palio’ highly enough, gosh, we were exhausted by the time we got back to a relaxing supper on the terrace and a great bottle of Chianti to help us come down from the high we were on! The house was just delightful with everything we could have needed. The pool was great for cooling off in after a long day out in such warm weather visiting Florence for sightseeing and shopping or the market and museums in Siena. If we were in need of anything, The concierge - our fairy godmother, was a call away to grant any wish we had! Five stars all round and more!

Deep in the forest this is a typically Tuscan hideaway, full of charm and character! Reached by a dusty track it is about fifteen minutes from the entrance to the Estate of Arceno. Once reached, we were blown away by the views from the terrace and garden! The terrace served well for long leisurely breakfasts and lunch when we chose to stay at Casanova. The terrace also meant we could have an after lunch snooze while our children had a magical time playing in the extensive garden where they were entranced by the plants and wildlife even spotting wild pigs! After days out in the vicinity of Arceno, to Siena, Florence and many other places for which the property is in an ideal location as a base, the children would spend an hour in the large swimming pool ‘freshening up’. Dinner would be ‘al fresco’ on the terrace or at one of the many restaurants and trattoria in the locality at San Gusmé, Castelnuovo Berardenga, Villa a sesta or even further afield. The house was a delight, clean and well equipped including mosquito screens on the windows. Our hosts were very friendly and so helpful when our car broke down! Although ‘away from it all’, it was easy enough to get out and about when we wanted to. Can highly recommend Casanova and we’ll be back ourselves!

Our holiday at Villa Casanova has been magic from the moment we arrived. We have been welcomed by some amazing wildlife that we saw at dusk when we went through the tunnel that lets you into the Arceno estate. The sunset and the beauty of the place enchanted us from the first instant. Spectacularly located amongst beautiful Chianti hills and vineyards, the villa offers amazing beautiful views and from the private terrace you may sit and enjoy the best red wine while the sun goes down. For the whole holiday our pace of life has been very slow and relaxed in sync with the local life, we enjoyed our walks in Arceno, the wine tastings and fantastic meals in the restaurants just off in the nearby villages. The owners have given us very precious ideas about places to visit and restaurants to try and we have always embraced their suggestions never being disappointed. We visited as a couple but we are already planning to be back with our daughter to share with them the beauty of the place and the new enhanced concierge services that the owner has announced for the new season. A very special life experience away from it all!

‘Villa Casanova’ is set within the exclusive private estate of Arceno in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, Siena, in the Chianti region of Tuscany. The estate of Arceno amounts to 1000 hectares of land and 22 km of unpaved "white" roads. Nature, beauty and tranquillity are the main features of the exclusive Tenuta.
The Villa is perfectly located for day trips to the main towns of Tuscany, Siena, Florence, Arezzo, Lucca and Pisa.
The area around Arceno offers quaint villages and medieval hamlets, outstanding landscapes, fantastic restaurants and the best wineries of the Chianti region.
