Setriolo is a very beautiful and recently renovated ‘Podere’, a running organic winemaking farm about five kilometres from Castellina in Chianti. It is accessed along a two-kilometre ‘strada bianca’, a ‘white road’ for which Tuscany is famous.
Once at Setriolo the view over the countryside is spectacular, through the lines of cypress trees, over the vines and olive groves.
The Podere’s structure consists of a main building, the upper floor of which has been restored into a very comfortable living space, a perfectly appointed kitchen, three bedrooms and three bathrooms and two outdoor terraces. The rooms are modern and tastefully decorated, blending with the retained original features of the building.
Opposite the main building across the reconstructed courtyard is the annex, refurbished with a living area, kitchenette, two bedrooms and one bathroom.
The premises can accommodate ten guests, perfect for families and groups of friends. Refurbished with elegance and high standards, modern furniture, air conditioning and satellite WIFi, it feels a great place to be.
Around both buildings the gardens have been tastefully and sensitively maintained. Many of the original rose bushes have been kept, their delicate scents adding to the aromas of the countryside, mint, lavender, rosemary that add to the intense charm of this setting.
From the sun deck and the exclusive swimming pool the view is just gorgeous. The area is very tranquil and one can imagine just soaking it all up with an aperitivo in the evening from one of many outdoor areas.
Aside the annex is the barbecue outdoor area which consists of seating, low tables and an outdoor kitchen with stainless steel worktop, induction hob and sink. There is a mobile barbecue and a gas-powered pizza oven. Adjacent to this is a pergola, beneath which is a dining table and seating for ten. Naturally, like the rest of the property the area is surrounded by nature, vines, olives and beautiful views!
Be aware that Setriolo is a working farm and the lower floor of the main building has been retained for the wine making. The owner of the Tenuta is sensitive to the hours of privacy that guests would wish for; however, he may be present to deal with the activities necessary for the operation of the Podere. He is welcoming for guests to enjoy a wine and oil tasting should they wish to. In September guests may well enjoy the possibility of helping with the vine harvesting, as well as with the olive harvest in October.
Nestled in the Chianti hills, the Podere Setriolo is a modern Villa with Annex within a wine making working farm, what a fun place to be.

Castellina in Chianti is a vibrant medieval town, it offers restaurants, shops and artisan boutiques, along with historical places to visit and famous wine making cellars.
The area is a paradise for nature lovers, hill walkers and hikers.
Cyclists may be tempted by some of the best tracks in Tuscany. The Antica Strada Romea goes from Castellina to Siena. For the less adventurous there are the roads that take to Panzano, Radda and Gaiole in Chianti and the famous Castel del Brolio.
